Piping installation in the engine room

Sea water, bilge, ballast and fuel lines going in on board right now.

Our crew is installing engine room systems on vessels under construction: seawater, bilge, ballast, fuel and service lines running from small bore up to DN200 around the main engine foundations.

Drawn first, then built. Isometrics are checked before anything is cut. Spools are prefabricated in the shop, fitted on board and hung so the line can move without loading the welds.

Manifolds, sea chests, tank connections. Gate valves, strainers and remote operated units set out and aligned on the tank top. Flange faces stay capped until the system is closed.

Welded, tested, then closed. Welding under ISO 3834. Every joint is documented, and NDT and pressure testing are done before insulation and final coating go on.

The order of work stays the same on every job. Most of the time in a machinery space goes on getting the routing right, not on the welding itself.
